Research shows only about 10% of plastic is recycled; the rest ends up in the environment and feeds the plastic soup in our seas. Researchers predict more plastic than fish in the oceans by 2050. Yet the cleaning industry still relies heavily on harmful chemicals, while excellent alternatives are available.
Director Rob Boele finds it astonishing that alternatives with a greater positive impact are not adopted en masse. With partner Frank Laurentius he calls EnozoPRO and EnozoHOME revolutionary: a spray bottle that converts tap water into ozone water, replacing daily cleaning products with no stabilizers or cartridges.
A single bottle can be refilled at least 5,000 times with tap water alone, equivalent to roughly 2,000 liters of chemical cleaner and its plastic packaging. Enozo eliminates 99.9% of the most common germs within 30 seconds, is harmless to people, animals and the environment, and prevents resistance build-up.
According to Boele the barrier is not cost (the one-off investment is quickly recouped) but breaking through ingrained patterns of thinking and behavior. With EnozoHOME, households and remote workers can also help reduce the plastic soup and create a healthier living environment.
