Gumdrop pilot launches in Aviva Stadium Dublin

By Consensus Group3 min read

At the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Consensus Group, Safe Stride and Gumdrop collect chewing gum to recycle it through Gumtec.

The Aviva Stadium, a customer of partner Safe Stride, has engaged Consensus Group and Gumdrop to collect chewing gum and give it a second life through the Gumtec recycling programme. Gumdrop bins have been placed around the stadium and an educational advert runs on the LED boards during events.

Small actions can lead to big change, and this pilot is a perfect example. By collecting and recycling gum, we can make a significant difference in reducing waste, lowering cleaning costs and promoting circularity.Glenn Laurentius, Consensus Group

Through Gumdrop's recycling system, Gumtec is produced: a new polymer made from recycled chewing gum. This more sustainable alternative to conventional materials is used in products such as Gumdrop bins and mugs, and resonates with the ESG goals of businesses and consumers globally.

Anna Bullus, founder of Gumdrop, is equally enthusiastic about the pilot: ‘We can't wait to drive small but mighty sustainable changes with this collaboration. The future really is green, with a drop of pink.’
