Consensus Group and Gumdrop partner up to turn chewing gum waste into sustainable products

By Consensus Group2 min read

Consensus Group and Gumdrop join forces to turn chewing gum waste into new, sustainable products.

Consensus Group announces a new partnership with Gumdrop Ltd. Together they offer gum chewers an alternative to disposing of their waste on the street and aim to educate users about the sustainable possibilities of collected chewing gum.

Gumdrop Ltd was founded by Anna Bullus in 2009 to tackle the global problem of chewing gum litter. It is the first company in the world to recycle chewing gum into new compounds for the rubber and plastics industry. In the United Kingdom alone, 150 million pounds are spent every year removing chewing gum litter from streets. Recycled gum can become wellington boots, sneakers, phone covers, stationery, packaging and much more.

We are happy and proud to partner with such a forward-thinking organisation like Gumdrop. Chewing gum waste is a serious issue in the world of hygiene and health.Martine Mallee, head of Engagement and Education at Consensus Group

The partnership includes introducing Gumdrop products to the Benelux market alongside educational programmes that raise awareness about gum disposal and recycling possibilities.
